The tenth edition of Bruichladdich’s Black Art series is a captivating marriage of confidence and ingenuity. Only the head distiller knows the secrets behind crafting this precious 29-year-old single malt, with its barley origins and cask types remain undisclosed. Unpeated and aged in the finest quality oak, it blends malts from a secret selection of casks distilled before Bruichladdich’s closure in the mid-90s, then bottled at cask strength.

NOSE

Bright and inviting, with fruity notes of apricot, melon, dark cherries, and blackcurrants. Rich toasted oak brings chocolate, leather, and warm spices. Lemon zest mingles with delicate florals and honey, balanced by subtle hints of iodine and leather.

PALATE

A velvety, well-balanced single malt that glides across the palate. Sweet barley, ginger, and lemon zest open into sweet apricot and marzipan. Toasted oak brings chocolate, vanilla, and raisins, while hints of iodine, coconut, and oak spices (ginger and cinnamon) emerge over time.

FINISH

Creamy fudge lend softness to the finish, as ripe fruits, a touch of tobacco, and a hint of ginger linger.
