The Glenfiddich 40 Year Old Scotch Whisky is an exceptional single malt, crafted from married 40-year-old vattings to achieve profound depth and intricate layers of aroma and flavor, making it an unrivalled rare whisky of its age. The Malt Master selects individual casks and blends them with remnants from previous 40-year-old vattings in a process known as “remnant vatting,” ensuring each bottle holds whiskies aged at least 40 years. Awarded Single Malt Scotch Whisky Trophy and Gold Outstanding at IWSC 2020.
Each bottle is encased in hand-stitched calf leather and accompanied by a leather-bound book that tells its 40-year story, complete with a hand-signed certificate from the craftsmen. Less than 1,000 bottles are released each year.
NOSE
Rich and beautifully layered with dried fruits, dark chocolate, roasted coffee, and ripe black cherries. Over time gentle wood smoke, polished oak, and cloves appear.
PALATE
Silky, smooth mouth coating. Intense dried fruit flavors lead into rich fruitcake, dates, raisins, and stewed apples, accented by oak spices, bitter chocolate and hints of peat.
FINISH
Incredibly long lasting and complex.
