Hibiki, meaning “harmony” in Japanese, was created in 1989 to honor Suntory’s 90th anniversary. Since then, it has become a celebrated icon of The Art of Japanese Whisky, embodying the essence of Japanese nature and craftsmanship. Hibiki is a harmonious blend of malt and grain whiskies from three renowned distilleries – Yamazaki, Hakushu, and Chita – meticulously crafted to deliver a symphony of flavors and aromas. With unprecedented demand for Japanese whiskies leading to the discontinuation of most age statements, many aged expressions have sadly been retired from the Hibiki portfolio, including the award-winning Hibiki 17-year-old.
A rare find that’s hard to keep in stock, this is another hand-painted release of 17-year-old Hibiki known as the Phoenix edition. Released exclusively at duty-free shops in 2011, only 3,000 bottles were ever made. The bottle features two phoenixes, mythical symbols of rebirth and cyclical regeneration.
