First introduced in 2018, Chichibu’s Paris Edition is an annual release created in collaboration with La Maison du Whisky to celebrate great cities around the world. The 2021 edition, Conquête (Conquest), is the fourth in the series with only 1847 bottles available, featuring a label inspired by Paris’s iconic newspaper kiosks.
Distilled between 2013 and 2015 from a variety of barley (Concerto, Peated Concerto, Venture, Braemar, Tipple, and Propino), this expression is a blend of eight casks aged for seven years in peated first-fill bourbon, virgin oak, port pipes, red wine barrels, and Chibidaru quarter casks. The result is a balanced profile of herbaceous freshness, exotic fruits, and spices, with a peated character that carries camphor notes and a medicinal quality reminiscent of certain Scottish peats, all while retaining a distinctly Japanese identity.
