This limited edition celebrates the return of the Kanda Matsuri festival, one of Japan’s major cultural events, after a four-year hiatus due to earthquake and tsunami in the Tohoku region. Chosen by the Kanda Bartender Society, Ichiro’s Malt was selected for its ties to Chichibu City, Saitama Prefecture – a region that has rebuilt after wartime devastation. it symbolizes resilience and hope for the recovery of Tohoku.
Word has it that this bottle holds whisky from the 2000 vintage at the Hanyu Distillery, finished in Cognac barrels – a detail not revealed on the label. After 13 years of maturation, it was bottled, with only 303 bottles produced.
