Taketsuru is a signature label honoring Masataka Taketsuru, the founder of Nikka and a pioneer of Japanese whisky-making. As a “pure malt,” it brings together whiskies from Nikka’s two distilleries, blending the bold, smoky character of Yoichi with the mellow, fruity profile of Miyagikyo.
First introduced in 2012, the 25-year-old Taketsuru expression stands as a rare treasure within the range offering as a highly limited exclusive edition. A blend of malt whiskies aged for at least 25 years from both Yoichi and Miyagikyo distilleries, it boasts a harmonious profile of sherried goodness, floral elegance, and mellow peat. Discontinued alongside the 17- and 21-year-old releases, it, too, succumbed to the soaring global demand for Japanese whisky.
