The Macallan Edition Series is an annual limited release that delves into whisky-making beyond traditional cask styles, emphasizing the essential role of oak casks in its creation.
The Macallan Edition No. 1, the first release in the Edition Series, showcases the brand’s mastery in oak cask management, controlling every detail from wood sourcing to cask seasoning. For this expression, Master Whisky Maker Bob Dalgarno blended spirits from eight distinct European and American cask styles, including spirits matured from 58% Butts, 23% Hogshead, and 19% Puncheon. This special edition stands as the ultimate bottle in the series, presented in a wooden box and bottled by Edrington Taiwan for the 2016 Lunar New Year gifting.
NOSE
A vibrant and rich aroma of orange, apple, and dried fruits, complemented by vanilla, toffee, and chocolate, with oak undertones adding depth.
PALATE
Warming wood spices lead the way, with nutmeg, cinnamon, and subtle notes of dried ginger and toffee. As it develops, fruity notes emerges with woody accents.
FINISH
Soft and long-lasting.
